As Founder and CEO of EPM Global, he leads an intelligence-led approach to security risk management, combining strategic advisory with operational delivery to support clients in managing risk and maintaining continuity.

John Heron is a Hostile Environments Consultant specialising in security support for NGOs and international media operating in high-risk environments.
With 16 years of experience in UK Special Operations, he deployed globally before transitioning into the private security sector, supporting diplomatic, defence, and commercial operations. He has worked extensively with international media and humanitarian organisations, providing security advisory, risk assessments, and operational support in complex and volatile regions. His approach combines practical field experience with structured planning, enabling teams to operate safely and effectively in demanding environments.
Magdalena El Ghamari
Security & Counterterrorism Consultant
Magdalena El Ghamari is a Security and Counterterrorism Consultant specialising in defence, risk management, and threat analysis in high-risk environments.
She holds a PhD in Social Sciences and brings a strong academic and operational perspective to security challenges, with particular expertise in counterterrorism, extremism, and regional dynamics across North Africa and the Middle East. Magdalena is an Assistant Professor and recognised authority in her field, contributing to international research and advisory initiatives focused on security strategy and crisis response. As a consultant for EPM Global, she provides strategic insight, risk intelligence, and advisory support, strengthening the organisation’s capability in threat assessment and operational resilience.
