26-27 September, London
In the last week of September, EPM Global Management headed to Kensington Olympia in London, for the International Security Expo.
This year’s show achieved record attendance numbers, with over 9000 security professionals from 70 countries in attendance. It was also the first time the organisers recognised the need for a separate approach to the cyber security sector, granting it a dedicated expo alongside the physical security event.
What drew us to the Expo wasn’t just the significant developments in the field of physical city security, although the array of cutting-edge anti-surveillance drone system presented was truly impressive. We attended the event to build relationships and listen to industry leaders and government representatives speak on topics such as security challenges stemming from the Ukrainian conflict and the government’s current security priorities. We were also attracted to the series of lectures at the Global Terror & Serious and Organised Crime Summit, as well as the panel discussions and speeches addressing international risk and resilience.
The most significant aspect for us, however, turned out to be the Security in Complex Environments Group pavilion. It provided us with a unique opportunity to hear from leaders in our sector about their perceptions of key global risks for 2024, the challenges they’ve recently faced in regions where we frequently operate, and the mitigation strategies they are currently working on.
